Over 16 months ago I decided to try Organic and chemical free skin care, my reasons for this at the time were vanity.
In the past I have always suffered from a congested skin and as good as I could be with my skin care routine and having facials something wasn't working. I decided that I would give Organic and chemical free skin care a try and go from there, within a week my congestion had gone, my skin was looking radiant and felt and smelt amazing. So many people commented on how good it was looking and nobody knew what my little secret was! Thank goodness for Angela Langford.
I then began to investigate what the differences are between regular products and (skin care, cleaning products, toothpaste etc) chemical free products and the results were scary.
Parabens are preservatives, they are cheap to use and found in most products, we come in contact with them on a daily basis. We of course need to preserve all products that are made but not in a man made way, the natural approach is the safest. There are of course natural ingredients that can be used to preserve products and slowly there are more companies that are doing this.
Now as there always is there are two sides to every 'story' but if there are scientific results stating that there are links to cancer then I know that I don't wish to put those chemicals in my body.
Parabens mimic the hormone estrogen which is known to play a role in breast cancer, through research there have been evidence of parabens found in breast tumorous, they can effect sperm count and can cause ageing and may more studies link to many more situations.
Don't take my word for it, look on the ingredients list of any products you have at home and you will be amazed, it is usually a word and it then ends in 'paraben' eg benzylparaben.
I now use all products that are chemical free and try and spread the word to everyone I know, I even have clients passing on the information to their friends, family member and even strangers in shops!
At Another Little World we use Angela Langford organic skin care in all our treatments, available to buy from us direct.

Terribly Sorry...
Wow, I have been terrible at this blog malarkey!
It was something I wanted to do often, share my stories, my views and of course any help regarding this mind baffling world of beauty that I possibly could. It just hasn't happened as you can obviously tell, but I promise to sit down at the weekend and share all my news. One of the main subjects will be regarding the charity event that myself and Megan organised in January for CoppaFeel. If you haven't yet discovered this amazing charity please go to www.coppafeel.org.
Speak soon, x

A Gloomy Monday Morning...
Good Morning,
After having a very busy weekend I am feeling worn out the sun has disappeared!
I would put it down to the fact I am getting older but I really don't believe that's what it is, I know that I haven't been eating enough fruit and veg or drinking enough water, three very important things that we all need to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle.
So this morning I have arrived at work with a bag full of fruit to keep me going for the next few days and a lemon for my water which I find helps me to drink it more often and also is great for us too!
One other reason for this health boost is I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and would like to be looking more radiant and my skin to be clearer! I am normally very lucky with this but since hurting my wrist and having to take meds every 3/4 hours it has had a serious impact on my skin so this is a great flush so they can hurry up and get out of my body....please.
I WILL also be on a fitness boost too and will exercise every day to try and tone up a little, I have been saying this for some time now but I will make sure that I do it as I feel so much better once its done.
How do you find your body reacts to your lifestyle?

It's been a while...
Hi everyone,
I am most sure I don't have any followers at the moment but however I apologise for taking such a long time out from my blog.
It has been a crazy busy few months with so much going on and disrupting Another Little World, but hopefully in a funny way it has turned out for the better and much more positive.
I suddenly found out at short notice that I had to leave the premises where I was based due to the guy I was renting from decided to leave very quickly. I thought it through and wanted to make a go of it and turn the building into a well being centre and increase my beauty therapy, the offer got accepted then a few weeks later the landlord pulled out of the sale and I had to suddenly move out as nobody had declared I had ever worked there leaving me and three other therapists wondering what to do and where to go.
I then very luckily heard about a new business opening within 1 minute up the road called The Emporium on a busy road more central in the town centre and lots of little business within this large beautiful Georgian building.
I opened only two weeks ago, meaning I only closed for two weeks so hopefully haven't upset any clients, there is still a little bit of work to do but not too much just mainly making it pretty and adding a few new treatments but this should be complete by the end of the week!
Then two weeks ago I nearly broke my wrist from slipping on a magazine which only now I have the use of but not for lifting or for applying pressure with and can hardly drive but I am so lucky that I haven't broken it.
I have more time now to keep you updated which I will try to do more then I have been.
So if you are reading this thank you for understanding as its been a crazy busy and slightly stressful few months but I can see the future is a lot more positive and I am really looking forward to the times ahead at The Emporium,
With Love

What a Wonderful Weekend
I know this is called a wonderful weekend but I am sneaking Thursday into this too, cheeky I know.
So Thursday evening I had been invited to a pampered chef party (http://www.pamperedchef.com/), I was a little worried as if you have the 'wrong consultant' or even a bad group of people it can be a bad experience. It was my first ever party and I had a great giggle! The host chose two dishes one being an apple, almond and camembert dish served with raw vegetables and bread sticks to dip in which was amazing, so quick and easy too! The second being a summer fruit trifle with a twist called lime berry mousse trifle ( http://www.pamperedchef.com/recipe_search/recipe.jsp?id=72101) again, this was so good, a little more time consuming but can prep everything before!
Have you ever been to one of these before? What did you think?
After a great evening I headed home and felt rubbish, this I blame the host for! Her house is always spotless, no dust, no mess just a stunning home! So I decided that our house had to be sorted asap!
Friday evening Dan had a gig which I would usually support them and go along but I stayed home and concentrated on the house, this has continued across the weekend.
Saturday morning Dan and I went into town for a iced latte and iced chocolate milkshake then headed off for a family visit during the day then returned for a lovely evening in, just the two of us.
This morning I woke up after Dan returned from walking our beautiful Doberman, and he had kindly gone out and bought the paper for me, I have a slight obsession with the 'YOU' magazine. We then went into town to do some bargin shopping in Wilkinsons for the house and then noticed there was a carboot sale!!
On the way home we ventured to get some further bargins and picked up some great things which we are very happy with (I will post these during the week) once we were home I then sampled our new paint in the spare bedroom, which by the way is the perfect shade of grey!
Dan has been really lovely recently but this weekend has been perfect! Lots of little thoughtful gestures and coming along to the carboot etc, I have always been lucky but realising it more this weekend!
Have you been up to lots of lovely things this weekend?

Gardening greens...
I mentioned in a previous blog that we were trying to get our garden ready for the summer and it is nearly there!
Last year when we moved house our garden was awful! We are very lucky to live towards the countryside despite the house being a year old, it was previously farm land so you can imagine what the 'mud' was like.
We now have (thanks to the hard work of my parents) a lovely patio, raised flower beds these are both finished with railway sleepers. A sweet little shed is in the back in the corner which I am going to paint probably in 'eiderdown' and would love to grow some wisteria up the side, and our pink blossom tree is in the other corner to the right, we need to get some little stones to put down next to the shed and under the tree. Also we have a patch of grass that needs to be seede so fingers crossed I can do that this weekend.

I am giving it a gow with growing carrotts, some cute little round ones and a bunch of regular ones too, I am growing them in wooden tubs like the ones below and so far I haven't killed them! I want to grow some more but need to buy some more tubs, I like the idea that you know where they have been growing and that they don't have any nasties on them either.
Have you tried growing any fruit and veg? How have you been getting on, please share your hints and tips.

my second hand stories
So as some of you may know I have a strange love of second hand things, from fashion, jewellery to furniture and lots more beauties.
When we moved into our home last year I wanted a combination of old and new everything!
My first item was given to us was our small dinning table and three chairs, I sanded, and painted them with an amazing paint from Earth Born that doesn't contain fumes so it can be used in the home too. I picked up this stunning fabric from Laura Ashley that I had my eye on for ages but it was very expensive! I was very lucky and found this in the 'scraps' box for something around £10.00 for a few metres so saved around £60.00!
My second find was our 'glass and alcohol' cupboard (that makes me sound like I am an alcoholic) I bought this not knowing what we needed it for or most importantly where it was going to go but I stuck with it as I love it so much.
We were given a sideboard for a temporary measure but I love it and its now in our bedroom to store many different things, I will probably paint in an off white colour and get a large mirror mounted on the wall for getting ready and doing hair and make up, like a dressing table.
The chair has been given to us from my nan, it was the first chair she upholstered she is now 85! It is lovely to have and will always have and hope to pass down to our children when I am much older.
The next thing was this fabulous lloyd loom washing basket I think we bought it for £10.00, I have just looked on their website and they retail at £205.00!
Then this week I popped into a second hand shop only 20 minutes from our home in a small town called Crewkerne and found this beautiful radio, I have taken a gamble on this as there is currently no plug, so will need one attached and hope that it works. I love the look of it and the colours that have been used.
I don't think my other half has too impressed but have had lots of lovely comments from friends already and looks perfect on top of our 'alcohol cupboard'.
I love buying second hand as you get so much more for your money, nothing seems to be made with the same quality and detail as it used to unless your paying hundreds for furniture. I also love the thought that there are lots of memories passed into another family who will share lots more happy times.......
